I would like to start off by saying that i completely understand that the er staff deals with these kinds of things on a daily basis, with that being said there is NO excuse for a first time mother like myself to have to sit in a pool of my own blood for an hour with it only getting worse. I arrived covered in my own blood, crying begging for them to "please help me im pregnant and i think im losing my baby" multiple times only to be told "we'll check and see if there is a bed available, we'll be with you in a few minutes" they gave me a wheelchair as anytime i stood i would bleed more. I waited for about 20 minutes before i had my husband wheel me back over to show them my blood soaked clothes and to plea to them again.
Eventually i was brought to a room, where i was told to change into a gown. I explained that i wouldnt be able to as i would make a murder looking mess in my room. As i attempted to change i thought i miscarried. As i screamed "thats my baby" no one came to check on me. A nurse came to ask how was i doing that evening as i was COVERED In blood. I explained in a nutshell what was happening and said "i think i miscarried on your floor " her response was "oh i guess thats not good". Now with no tests to confirm that i did in fact lose my child a doctor came in to apologize for the loss. My husband and i broke instantly. Eventually was taken for a ultra sound, and was told that my baby was still with me. The greatest news! All of what i had dealt with for the 6 1/2 hours has disappeared.
I had to have my first colonoscopy and had my consult with Dr. Shah. He was very thorough and interested in listening to my symptoms so he suggest blood work and also an endoscopy. I had the colonoscopy and an endoscopy at Southern Ocean Medical Center with Dr. Shah this past Wednesday. I was concerned about the prep and he was very reassuring and calm. The procedure went off without a hitch and we found out some important things. It's nice when someone actually listens to you!
So, if there is one piece of advice i can give you, DONT COME TO THIS ER!! if possible go to toms river. P.s. there were 2 nurses that attempted to make me laugh and took care of me, i dont know they're names but thank you.
My 11 year old son broke his arm. Dr. Olorunnisola provided care the far exceeded my expectations in the ER. The perfect combination of good humor and professionalism. The nurses and techs were great too. I will never go to CMC ever again. SOCH is now my 1st Choice hospital.
Very happy with amazing staff for this LBI guest and his family. My child woke up with Croup at 1 am, we went to the ER and we're dealt with immediately. The Dr's and Nurses were so kind and we were quickly on our way home and recovering. Even got lollipops and stickers on our way out. Thank you!
Terrible experience in the ER. My father was taken there for complications from terminal cancer when he could not make it all the way to Sloan Kettering. The bedside manner of the ER Dr. Was awful and unprofessional! He pulled up a chair with a Starbucks coffee in hand and told my father that he was dying. I could not believe what I was hearing. Do you really go in to someone who is fighting for their life and casually speak to them with a Starbucks in hand. I have never seen such unprofessionalism. It was very upsetting as if the situation was not upsetting enough. Once he was moved to the ICU they were great, but ER experience was awful.
